Reed Howes and Chris Dodson are experienced licensed farm property brokers and realtors with many years in the agricultural business.
Reed Howes has 50 years of practical farm management experience, initially as a livestock manager and latterly as the General Manager of a large and very diversified corporate farming enterprise in the Natal Midlands. He subsequently became a specialist consultant with responsibility for livestock and forestry management contracts. He took over as owner and managing Director of SA Farm Consultants in 1994. He has considerable experience as a livestock judge, has served for many years on the Committee of the Royal Agricultural Society in Pietermaritzburg and on the Board of Baynesfield Estates.
Chris Dodson also has 50 years of agricultural experience starting with ten years in agricultural research followed by a ten year stint with the Anglo American Corporation’s farming enterprises, rising from Agronomist at Soetvelde Farms Ltd to General Manager of Anglo’s farming interests in Zambia. He subsequently was responsible for Pannar Seed’s early ventures into exporting crop seeds into Africa. For the last 30 years he has been an agribusiness and management consultant with emphasis on crop production (sugar cane and tea estates) and the development of irrigated and rain grown smallholder development projects.
