The group of farms near Lidgetton and Caversham known as Buffelsbosch, Boschfontein, Middelbosch and Blesberg were once a single farm. In 1846 the Fannin family acquired Buffelsbosch from its Boer owners as they packed up in disillusionment with Colonial rule and with the sourveld grazing in the Midlands. All that now remains of Buffelsbosch is a small farm of about 20 hectares, right in the middle of the Midlands Meander route, with a magnificent red brick Colonial/Victorian style farmhouse built by the Raw family on the site of the original dwelling. The house has been added to over the years, enhancing its attractive appearance and is being completely refurbished by the present owner preparatory to sale. The house and the nearby manager’s modern house are offered at R5 million. Consideration will be given to selling the two houses separately at R3.7 million and R1.6 million respectively.
The above lovely residence goes with a scenic 3.12 ha dam, tennis court, pool, 16-strand electrified security fence, extensive outbuildings and 9 hectares of camped, irrigated pastures.
All-in Price: R5 million. Separate purchases would be at R3.7 million for the main house on about 20 hectares and R1.6 million for the manager’s house on about 4 hectares. |
